Salon POS
Sales, stylists and payroll for a busy salon.
- Salon point of sale
- Beauty & wellness
- Front-desk POS · Owner back office
- Laravel · MySQL · Vue
01 · Project overview
What was built, and for whom.
CodeWave built a salon point of sale and back office for Lizz Clements. Receptionists ring up services and retail products at the front desk, assigning a stylist to each service and taking payment across one or more methods. Behind the desk, the owner sees daily takings, pays stylists their commission with any advances deducted, records expenses and reads profit after product costs and payouts.

02 · Business challenge
The problem, as the business experienced it.
A salon sells both services and products, pays stylists on commission and advances them money between paydays, and needs to know what it actually earned after costs.
Salon takings look simple at the till and get complicated at month end, when commissions, advances, product costs and expenses all have to be counted.
- Each service line needs the stylist who earned its commission
- Customers often pay with more than one method
- Advances to stylists must come off their next payout
- Profit has to account for product costs and payouts, not just sales
03 · Our approach
How we got from the problem to the system.
CodeWave built a Laravel point of sale and back office covering sales with a stylist on every service line, split payments, stock, commissions, payroll with advance deductions, expenses and profit reporting.
-
01
Build the till
One search for services and products, a stylist on each service line, walk-in or named customers, and payment split across the salon's own accounts.
-
02
Track stock and cost
Product stock deducted on sale, with each line storing its cost at the time so profit stays accurate later.
-
03
Pay the team
Commission calculated per service line, paid out through payroll with outstanding advances deducted automatically.
-
04
Report the business
A dashboard of today's revenue, top services and top stylists, plus expense, stock and profit reports for any date range.
04 · Solution architecture
Layers of the system.
